Damla Faro’s photographs come to life through the interaction of childhood fairytales and present-day realities. In the second series of “Gatecrashers,” she plays with light, two- and three-dimensional objects to unite our concrete environment with her imagined characters. The “Peek-a-Boo” series examines the microcosm of flora to highlight the extraordinary details of plants and the magical characters that might surround them. The exhibition also presents an installation that includes a safe haven for her miniatures.
In her most recent series in this exhibition, she uses digital composite photography to superimpose multiple images of the same location. The resultant large-scale photographs take the viewer’s eye through minute differences in our surroundings that become evident with the passage of time.
